The Process
Beginning your estate plan is a big step. My goal is to implement a plan that ensures your confidence in the planning process each step of the way and to do so with efficiency and clarity.
You can feel confident knowing that within two months your plan will be in place and your family planned for and protected should something happen to you.
The Initial Meeting
The planning process begins with a meeting to get educated, informed, and fully empowered to make the right decisions for the people you love. Together we have the opportunity to meet each other and ensure that working together is a good fit. I will walk you through exactly what your loved ones would have to do and where your assets would go if something happened to you today. You can then decide if there is anything you would like to happen differently and have clarity about what needs to be done.
If We are a Good Fit
If we decide to work together, I will help you choose the planning level that is right for your family. There are three different planning levels to accommodate your needs, and you decide which planning level best proctors you and your family. I will then help you design a plan that will give you the peace of mind of knowing your family will be taken care of in the event the unthinkable happens. Your documents will be ready to sign in about a month.
The Beginning of a Long Relationship
I will create an electronic record of all of your legal documents so you can easily access them anytime you need to in the future and then schedule our next meeting. At the final meeting, I will help you ensure your assets are owned (titled) in the right way and line up with your estate plan. I will make sure everyone you have named to take care of you, your children, and the money and assets you are leaving behind knows just what to do if and when something happens.
Finally, we will create a plan for your intangible and most valuable assets--your values, insights, stories, and experiences that you and your loved ones want preserved. I will then meet with you every three years to review your plan to make sure it still meets your objectives and circumstances.
